| Arishige Matsuura
As Chairman of Nippon Suiseki Association (NSA), Mr.
Matsuura speaks as the voice of the single organization
charged with responsibility for preserving the tradition
of this artform by the Japanese Agency for Cultural
Affairs. He travels internationally on behalf of the
suiseki community, coming to the United States for the
first time in 2002.
Mr. Matsuura has published widely on suiseki including
producing annual NSA exhibition catalogs. The Association
hosts two major exhibits yearly: "Nippon Suiseki
Meihin Ten" and "Nippon Siseki Sogo Ten."
NSA's office is located in Mr. Matsuura's residence,
and he invites guests to share his hospitality while
in Tokyo.
Mr. Matsuura has contributed to suiseki texts regarding
Western collections. He also recently published his
own authoritative text, which is only available in the
Japanese language at this time.
